Rally Format
Rallies are our regular monthly gatherings where we offer shared lessons with a variety of instructors who are experienced in working equitation, classical dressage or both.
WEYV holds one rally per month – normally the first Saturday of the month.
Occasionally a Sunday will be substituted for the Saturday.
At its core, working equitation is classical dressage with obstacles. Therefore, our lessons focus on these – classical schooling and working equitation obstacles/courses. There are many schooling opportunities with all the different obstacles, and feedback and suggestions are always sought from rally attendees.
Rallies
Rallies are open to WEYV members, HRCAV members, and HRCAV non-members. The club reserves the right to limit attendance at any event to members only, should demand from the members be such that we are unable to accommodate non WEYV members.
WEYV accepts junior riders from 14 yrs.
Teachers - We will always source classically trained teachers for rallies and clinics. What we all have in common is a great respect for the welfare of horses.
Location of Rallies & Clinics:
WEYV is currently based at a private indoor facility in Gruyere (Seville / Wandin area). Whilst most rallies and clinics will be held at Gruyere Indoor - other venues may be used from time to time.
Refreshments
Morning or afternoon tea (depending on the timing of the event) is provided for all rallies, and is included in the cost. BYO lunch.

Rallies
- 2 riders per lesson
- Lesson duration 60 minutes
- Should we have odd numbers for the rally, we may group 3 riders in a 90 minute lesson
- Most rallies will involve a small number of obstacles to offer focussed training on a particular aspect/s. There are a number of rallies where the full course is available.
- Our priority is for safety and ease of lesson flow, so we group riders and horses according to level as far as possible.
- The instructor may require any horse and rider combination to start the lesson in-hand to ensure appropriate exposure to obstacles prior to undertaking the ridden work. (Helmets are required to be worn for in-hand as well as ridden work.
